– Donnerstag Nacht veröffentlichte die WWE eine Presseerklärung, in der ein ’neuer Anfang für die WWE‘ versprochen wird. Logisch, hier ist von der neuen NXT Einrichtung in Orlando, Florida, die Rede. Die WWE vermarktet das neue Entwicklungscenter als ‚die neue Basis für den garantierten Erfolg der WWE.‘ Wie die Independent-Fans unter euch bemerkt haben dürften, verstärkt die WWE derzeit ihre Bemühungen, um an erfolgsversprechende, junge Wrestler zu kommen. Die aktuell angestrebte Marke liegt bei 80-120 Wrestlern im Entwicklungssektor der NXT-Promotion. Weiter hat man das Entwicklungscenter in der Presseerklärung auf fünf Komponenten reduziert, um es dem geneigten Leser die wichtigsten Merkmale anschaulicher zu machen. In-Ring Trainingsräume, Sportmedizin, Stärke und Ausdauer, ein eigener Raum zum Halten von Promos und ein Medienbearbeitungsraum fürs Editing. Dabei ist die In-Ring Trainingseinrichtung via Kameras mit dem WWE Hauptquartier in Stamford verbunden, was bedeutet, dass es jederzeit zu direktem Live-Schaltungen zwischen den beiden Einrichtungen kommen kann, wahrscheinlich um den Talenten schnellstmöglich Feedback von ganz oben zu geben.

Zu dieser Presseerklärung gibt es eine Reihe von Einzelupdates, die mit der Neueröffnung einher kommen:

– Die WWE hat den ehemaligen TNA Ringrichter Rudy Charles unter Vertrag genommen. Bei den gestrigen NXT Tapings gab Charles sein Debüt als Referee. Auch der notwendige Umzug von Tennessee nach Florida ist bereits vonstattengegangen. Charles war einer der ältesten TNA-Angestellten, er trat der Promotion bereits im Jahr 2002 bei. Im Jahr 2009 verließ Charles TNA Wrestling, trat aber noch einmal beim Thanksgiving-Special von Impact im Jahr 2011 auf.

– WWE Referee Scott Armstrong hat auf Twitter folgendes Foto veröffentlicht: Klick! Die interessante Randnotiz an der Sache: Im Hintergrund kann das heißgeliebte Indy-Talent Sami Callihan erspäht werden.

– Es gibt mal wieder einen neuen Favoriten für die WWE Offiziellen bei NXT: Tyler Breeze! Der junge Mann war ehemals als Mike Dalton bekannt und wurde von Lace Storm trainiert. Bei den letzten NXT Tapings bestritt Breeze mehrere Matches.

– Die neuesten Divas-Verpflichtungen haben in Orlando in dieser Woche mit dem Training bekommen. Für Rebecca Quin, CJ Perry und Brittany Fetkin beginnt also der mühsame Weg in die WWE TV Shows.

– Das neue Kommentatorenteam für WWE NXT besteht aus Alex Riley und Tom Phillips. Damit scheint Riley zu einer festen Kommentatorengröße zu werden und seine Wrestlingschuhe erst einmal an den Nagel zu hängen. Die beiden werden im Übrigen von Jim Ross und Michael Cole gecoacht.

– Und zum Schluss gibt es noch das Video der gesamten Pressekonferenz, in der unter anderem Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Sheamus, Xavier Woods und der Gouverneur von Florida zu Wort kommen.

With 26,000 square-feet, seven training rings, a world-class strength and conditioning program and cutting-edge edit and production facilities, the new state-of-the-art Performance Center will give WWE the ability to train more potential performers than ever before through a comprehensive program including in-ring training, physical preparedness and character development.

The new center will be the training ground for approximately 75 talent who include former professional and collegiate athletes, Olympians and entertainers, offering a best-in-class sports medicine program and a central location for all current WWE Superstars to receive the best care both in and out of the ring.

The Performance Center solidifies WWE’s presence in Orlando and evolves WWE’s partnership with Full Sail University. Last year, WWE and Full Sail announced an innovative partnership that moved live tapings of WWE NXT series, WWE’s weekly one-hour show that broadcasts on Hulu Plus and in more than 100 countries, to Full Sail Live, the university’s state-of-the-art performance venue. The partnership, which created a student scholarship fund, also allows students of the university’s entertainment-focused degree programs, including Film, Show Production, Digital Arts and Design, Internet Marketing and Entertainment Business, to gain real-world experience alongside WWE production staff during WWE NXT tapings.
