Am Samstag steht mit „Slammiversary“ eine der größten Shows des Jahres bevor, zu welchem Anlass wir mit Impacts neuestem Kaderkracher Lio Rush über seinen Werdegang und seine Ziele bei Impact Wrestling sprachen. Mit nicht einmal 30 Jahren ist „The Bad Child“ im besten Karrierealter und kann sich schon als gestandenen Veteranen bezeichnen. Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Meine Damen und Herren, willkommen zur neuesten Folge des Wrestling-Infos Podcast. Mein Name ist Marko aka Killcobain, und heute ist The Black Heart, the man of the hour, the bad child, Lio Rush bei mir, wie geht es dir heute?
Lio Rush (Impact): Mir geht’s ziemlich gut, Alter. Ich danke dir. Und wie geht es dir?
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Mir geht es auch hervorragend. Danke, dass du heute hier bei uns bist. Ich möchte gleich zu den Fakten kommen. Ich meine, es ist allgemein bekannt, dass du schon seit deinem fünften Lebensjahr Wrestler werden wolltest. Aber was ist das Erste, an das du dich beim Wrestling erinnerst? Was ist das Erste, was dir sofort in den Sinn kommt?
Lio Rush (Impact): Das Erste, was mir zum Thema Wrestling in den Sinn kommt, ist Rikishi, der Booker T ein Stinkface verpasst hat, und er hat sich über den ganzen Ansagertisch und Michael Cole übergeben. Das ist also die erste Sache, an die ich mich beim Wrestling erinnere.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Das ist ein klasse Moment! Wenn man bedenkt, dass du während deiner Zeit bei den Indies mit 18 Jahren eine seltene Spezies warst, die heute eher zur Norm geworden ist. Aber du warst damals so etwas wie ein Wegbereiter, ich kann mir vorstellen, dass du damit zu kämpfen hattest, dass einige Leute wegen deines Alters auf dich herabgesehen haben. Wie bist du damit umgegangen?
Lio Rush (Impact): Ich glaube nicht, dass die Leute unbedingt wegen meines Alters auf mich herabgesehen haben. Ich glaube, sie waren wahrscheinlich ein bisschen verärgert darüber, wie ich für mein Alter war. Ich glaube, ich war sehr wettbewerbsorientiert. Ich war sehr hungrig. Ich meine, damals war ich noch ein Kind, weißt du, was ich meine? Ich habe das Gefühl, das gehört dazu. Wrestling ist ein sehr einzigartiges Geschäft, und das bringt gewisse Dinge mit sich, und man muss wissen, wie man sich in diesem Geschäft zu verhalten hat, was ich mit der Zeit gelernt habe. Denn ich bin natürlich keine 18 mehr.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Ich meine, du bist selbst erwachsen geworden, du bist Vater von drei Kindern geworden. Wie hat sich das auf deine Sicht der Dinge ausgewirkt, die du im Ring tust?
Lio Rush (Impact): Vielleicht nicht beeinflussen. Ich glaube nicht, dass es mich wirklich beeinflusst hat. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass ich seit meiner Jugend immer viel Verantwortung hatte, was mich zu einer starken und mutigen Persönlichkeit geformt hat. Meine Kinder haben mich ständig daran erinnert, warum ich die Dinge tue, die ich tue. Sie sind ein ständiger Motivator. Alles, was ich tue, tue ich für sie. Alles, was ich tue, dient dazu, ihnen Möglichkeiten zu eröffnen, wenn sie älter sind, und ihnen die Dinge zu ermöglichen, die sie sich im Leben wünschen. Ich möchte nicht, dass sie das Leben so sehen, wie ich aufgewachsen bin oder wie ich das Leben gesehen habe. Ich möchte, dass sie eine andere Erfahrung machen, und ich habe das Gefühl, dass mir das bisher gelungen ist, was ich wirklich toll finde. Ich habe die längste Zeit nichts außerhalb des Bezirks gesehen, in dem ich gelebt habe, aber jetzt können meine Kinder das. Nicht nur außerhalb des Bezirks, sondern auch außerhalb des Staates, außerhalb des Landes, in verschiedenen Staaten, wo sie so viel mehr erleben können. Es ist also wirklich cool. Ich glaube nicht, dass sie als, wie war das Wort, das du benutzt hast, dienen? Ich denke, dass sie immer ein Motivator waren.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Wenn ich auf einige der verrückten Sachen zurückblicke, die du gemacht hast, wie zum Beispiel das Leitermatch gegen Joey Janela bei CZW „Once in a lifetime“. Könntest du dir vorstellen, solche Stunts noch zu machen? Aktuell oder in einigen Jahren?
Lio Rush (Impact): Ohh nein, ich würde nicht mehr aufstehen können. Ohh, wahrscheinlich nie wieder, ich werde alt und ich weiß das.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Ja, die 30er werden dich treffen, die 30er werden dich treffen!
Lio Rush (Impact): Aber jedes Mal, wenn ich sage, dass ich alt werde, und ich sage den Leuten mein Alter, sagen sie: „Du bist noch jung“ und ich sage: „Ja, ich denke schon“. Aber ich fange definitiv an, mich wie 28 zu fühlen, als wäre ich keine 18 mehr.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Ja, es ist verrückt, denn einerseits bist du ein Veteran, richtig? Auf der anderen Seite bist du immer noch in deinem besten Alter. Und ich meine, über die Jahre hinweg hast du buchstäblich hervorragende Leistungen im Ring gezeigt, ohne dass du jemals nachgelassen hättest. Wenn Lio Rush auf der Karte stand, dann hast du Leo Rush bekommen. Verstehst du, was ich sagen will? Ich denke, der nächste große Schritt wäre, ein Mentor zu werden. Ist es etwas, das dir leicht fällt, andere Leute zu unterrichten?
Lio Rush (Impact): Ich denke, in letzter Zeit, ja. Ich habe mich nie selbstbewusst genug gefühlt, um andere Leute zu unterrichten, und ich glaube, das lag wahrscheinlich daran, dass ich mehr an das Unterrichten auf körperlicher Ebene gedacht habe. Ich weiß, was für mich am besten funktioniert, aber ich kann niemanden belehren. Ich versuche, so einzigartig wie möglich zu sein. Ich versuche, Dinge zu tun, die nur ich tun kann, weil ich weiß, wozu mein Körper fähig ist. Ich habe also das Gefühl, dass ich das niemandem beibringen kann, weil andere Menschen anders auf Dinge reagieren, mit anderen Einschränkungen und dergleichen. Aber in letzter Zeit habe ich das Gefühl, dass ich die Leute auf eine neue Art und Weise unterrichte, die ich vorher nicht konnte. Früher fehlte mir die Erfahrung, aber jetzt habe ich das Gefühl, dass ich die Erfahrung habe, dass ich das Wissen habe, dass ich überall gewesen bin und überall gerungen habe. Ich habe in diesem Geschäft die höchsten Höhen und die tiefsten Tiefen erlebt. Jetzt habe ich das Gefühl, dass ich die Fähigkeit habe, zu lehren, und ich liebe es. Ich liebe es, jüngeren Leuten das Wissen zu vermitteln, das ich gerne gehabt hätte, als ich jünger war, und das heißt, so ehrlich wie möglich mit ihnen zu sein und ihnen Dinge über das Geschäft beizubringen, über das wahre Geschäft. Zu lernen, wie man sich selbst verhält, solche Dinge. Es ist also ziemlich aufregend und ich mag es.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Welche Leute waren so etwas wie ein Mentor für dich, oder wer hat den größten Einfluss auf deine Karriere gehabt?
Lio Rush (Impact): Ob du es glaubst oder nicht, Alex Shelley und Chris Sabin.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Da schließt sich der Kreis, oder?
Lio Rush (Impact): Full circle. Suchen und zerstören. Ich erinnere mich an diese Tage. Ich erinnere mich auch an den Tag, an dem Alex Shelley mir meine allererste Wrestling-Hose kaufte. Und jetzt schließt sich der Kreis.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Wann war das? Wann hat er dir deine ersten Shorts gekauft?
Lio Rush (Impact): Im Jahr 2016, die Hose, dich ich trug, als ich das Top Prospect Turnier gewonnen habe, wurde von Alex Shelley gekauft.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Bei Impact zu landen ist sozusagen der Company Grand Slam, wie ich es gerne nenne, war es etwas Besonderes für dich, endlich bei Impact aufzutreten und dort zu wrestlen?
Lio Rush (Impact): Es war extrem speziell, extrem, extrem, extrem speziell. Impact war der einzige Ort, an dem ich noch nicht war, und das im Alter von 28 Jahren machen zu können? Ich finde das wirklich cool. Es ist wirklich etwas Besonderes. Es ist ein anderes Gefühl, wenn man weiß, dass man schon überall war, weil man dann anfängt, Fragen zu stellen wie: OK, weißt du. Wohin soll ich gehen? Wohin gehe ich nach dem hier? Was für andere Wünsche habe ich in der Welt des professionellen Wrestlings? Also fange ich an, über zwei bis fünf bis acht Jahre nachzudenken. Wie sehen diese aus? Denn ich habe alles gemacht, was mit Wrestling zu tun hat. Es war etwas Besonderes, ein professioneller Meilenstein und mit Sicherheit auch ein persönlicher Meilenstein. Ich freue mich sehr darauf, jetzt bei Impact zu sein, obwohl ich wirklich aufgeregt bin. Es gibt eine Menge Dinge, die ich dort tun kann.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Ich meine, es gibt natürlich die Möglichkeit von so vielen Traumkämpfen. Wie du schon erwähnt hast, Chris Sabin zum Beispiel, gegen den du am Samstag antreten wirst. Was erwartest du von dem Match, oder was können wir Fans von dir bei Slammiversary erwarten?
Lio Rush (Impact): Ich erwarte ein 1, 2, 3 für die Nacht. Ich werde ich sein. Geh und erzähl der Welt, was du bald sehen wirst. Der neue X-Division Champion, das Bad Child Lio Rush. Das ist es, was die Fans erwarten können.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Ich meine, dein Stil ist prädestiniert für die X-Division. Wenn ich an die TNA-Tage zurückdenke? Diese Division zu führen, könnte ein sehr, sehr interessanter Aspekt sein. Was passiert danach bei Impact: Glaubst du, dass es für Lio Rush endlich Zeit für den großen Wurf ist?
Lio Rush (Impact): Ja, deshalb bin ich ja hier. Ich tue nichts ohne Grund. Es gibt einen Grund dafür, ich glaube nicht an Zufälle. Dies geschieht aus einem bestimmten Grund. Es geschieht zu dem Zeitpunkt, zu dem es geschieht, aus einem Grund. Die Zeiten ändern sich, und ich bin derjenige, der diesen Wandel anführen wird.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Vorhin hast du gesagt, du hast darüber nachgedacht, wie dein Leben oder deine Karriere in acht oder vielleicht 10 Jahren aussehen würde. Was waren die Fragen oder die Erkenntnisse, die du hattest?
Lio Rush (Impact): Ja, das ist eine Reise, die ich abwarten muss, um es selbst zu sehen. Ja, ich versuche, die Dinge nicht zu weit im Voraus zu planen, weil man nie weiß, was passieren wird. Das habe ich bei mehreren Verletzungen gelernt, die alles, was ich vorhatte, völlig aus dem Gleichgewicht gebracht und gestoppt haben, und es hat sich in einem Augenblick geändert. Und es ändert sich für eine sehr lange Zeit, bis man wieder auf die Beine kommt und entweder dorthin zurückkehrt, wo man sein möchte, oder dorthin, wie es früher war, aber ich glaube nicht, dass irgendjemand dorthin zurückkehren möchte, wie es früher war, denn jeder will sich weiterentwickeln. Ja, man kann nie wissen. Also, wir werden sehen. 10 Jahre? Lass es uns versuchen. Ich will mich auf dieses Jahr konzentrieren. Das ist es, worauf ich mich konzentrieren will.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Na gut, bleiben wir in der Gegenwart. Ich meine, du musst nicht zurückgehen, aber bist du ein Mensch, der sich selbst reflektiert, indem er sich Kämpfe noch einmal ansieht?
Lio Rush (Impact): Nicht wirklich. Man muss es frisch halten. Man muss es authentisch halten. Man muss es originell halten. Man muss im Moment leben. Ich glaube, das ist es, was den besten Künstler ausmacht.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Ich meine, das ist eine deiner Qualitäten: Wo immer du hingegangen bist, bist du für dich selbst eingetreten und du hast dich nicht geschämt, deine Meinung zu sagen. Aber das bringt auch Probleme mit sich, denke ich. Gibt es etwas, von dem du denkst, dass es in der Wahrnehmung der Leute verzerrt ist?
Lio Rush (Impact): Mann, ich wünschte, ich könnte mich damit befassen. Ich wünschte, es interessiere mich. Ich wünschte, es würde mich interessieren, aber das tut es nicht. Warum sollte es auch? Warum sollte es dich interessieren? Warum sollte es jemanden kümmern, was andere von ihm denken? Man muss einfach man selbst sein. Du musst in erster Linie ein guter Mensch sein, aber sei du selbst, wen kümmert es schon, was andere über dich denken? Wird mich das davon abhalten, das zu tun, wozu ich geboren wurde? Das weiß ich nicht. Nein, das wird es nie. Ich bin mir sicher, dass du das inzwischen weißt. Ich werde nicht einfach des Zweckes willen weitermachen. Du musst du selbst sein. Du musst mit dem, was du tust, glücklich sein. Man muss es für sich selbst tun und für die Menschen, die man liebt. Wen kümmert es schon, was andere Leute denken? Das ist es also, was ich dazu zu sagen habe.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Wie man sieht, ist es für uns deutsche Fans durch den Deal mit DAZN viel einfacher geworden, die Dinge bei Impact Wrestling zu verfolgen. Wie begeistert bist du davon, dass ihr in Mitteleuropa durch diese Partnerschaft mehr Aufmerksamkeit bekommt?
Lio Rush (Impact): Ich liebe es absolut. Ich liebe, liebe, liebe, liebe Europa. Ich liebe, liebe, liebe, liebe Europa. Dass ich also in der Lage bin, etwas in Europa mit Impact zu machen, mit diesem Unternehmen, von dem ich ein Teil sein möchte. Es ist eine aufregende Zeit. Ich freue mich also darauf, dass die beiden zusammenkommen. Wir können alle eine große Party feiern, also ja, ich bin aufgeregt.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Also, ich weiß deine Zeit wirklich zu schätzen, Lio, und als unser Gast würde ich dir gerne die letzten Worte geben. Hast du noch etwas im Sinn, das du den deutschen Fans mitteilen möchtest, oder willst du dir etwas von der Seele reden?
Lio Rush (Impact): An alle deutschen Fans da draußen, an alle meine deutschen Fans da draußen. Zunächst einmal vielen Dank, dass ihr mich unterstützt habt, besonders in meinen jüngeren Tagen des Wrestlings und bei wXw. Und wisst ihr, bei meinen Tourneen in Deutschland seid ihr einige der besten Fans gewesen, vor denen ich je gerungen habe, und ich wünschte, ich würde öfter vor euch wrestlen. Also danke dafür, aber unterstützt mich weiterhin, verfolgt meinen Weg. Ich hoffe, euch eines Tages zu sehen. Verfolgt auch weiterhin die Dinge, die ich außerhalb des Wrestlings tue, denn es ist alles dasselbe, und ich möchte, dass ihr alles genießt, was ich für euch herausbringe. Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the newest episode of the Wrestling-Infos Podcast. My name is Marko AKA Killcobain, and today I’m joined by the Black Heart, the man of the hour, the bad child, Lio Rush, how are you doing today?
Lio Rush (Impact): I’m doing pretty great man. Thank you. How are you doing?
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): I’m doing great as well. Thank you for being here today with us. I wanna just get right to the facts. I mean, it’s widely known that you’ve wanted to become a wrestler since the age of, I guess 5. But what’s the first thing you remember about wrestling? What’s the first thing that pops right into your mind?
Lio Rush (Impact): The first thing that always pops in my mind as a first memory of wrestling was Rikishi giving Booker T a stink face, and he grew up all over the announcers table and Michael Cole. So, that’s the first thing that I remember about wrestling.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): That’s a good one, considering during your time on the Indies you were, I guess, a rare species at, 18 years old, which has now become like a casualty. But you were like, trailblazing back then, I can imagine you had to deal with, several people looking down to you, because of your age. So, how did you handle that?
Lio Rush (Impact): I don’t think people necessarily looked down to me because of my age. I think they, probably were a little annoyed at how I was for my age. I feel like I was very competitive. I was very hungry. I mean, just being a kid, you know what I mean? I feel like it comes with the territory. Wrestling is a very unique business and certain things come with that, and you have to know how to conduct yourself in this business, which I’ve learned over time. Because I’m not 18 anymore, obviously.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): I mean you’ve grown yourself, I guess, you’ve become a father of three children. So, how did that affect your view of the things you do in the ring and everything?
Lio Rush (Impact): Maybe not affect. I don’t think it really affected me. I feel like since I was a teenager, I’ve always had a lot of responsibilities since a very young age, that kind of molded me into this strong kind of bold individual. My kids have been nothing but a constant reminder of why I’m doing the things that I’m doing. They’re a constant motivator. You know everything that I do is for them. Everything that I do is to create opportunities for them when they get older and to, you know, have the things that they want in life. I don’t want my upbringing or how I looked at life to be the way that they look at life. I want a different experience for them and I definitely feel like I’ve done that so far, which I feel really great about. You know, I didn’t see outside the county that I lived in for the longest time, but now my kids are being able to. You know, not only be outside of the county, but outside of the state, outside of the country, different states being exposed to so much more. So, it’s really cool. I don’t think they serve as a, what was the word you used? I think that they’ve always been a motivator.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Looking back on some of the crazy stuff you did, actually like the ladder match against Joey Janela at CZW, once in a lifetime. Could you see yourself doing stunts like this? Right now or in several years?
Lio Rush (Impact): Ohh no, I wouldn’t be able to stand back up. Ohh, probably never again, I’m getting old man and I know that.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Yeah, 30s going to hit you, 30s going to hit you!
Lio Rush (Impact): But every time I say that I’m getting old, and I tell people my age, they are like ‚you’re still young‘ and I’m like, ‚yeah, I guess so‘. But I definitely am starting to feel I’m 28, like, I’m not 18 anymore.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Yeah, it’s crazy because on one side, you’re a veteran, right? However, you’re still in your best age right now. So, and I mean, over the years, you’ve literally shown, like, excellence in the ring with never having any drop off. If there was Lio Rush on the card. You’ve got Leo rush. You know what I’m saying? Right now, I think the next big step would be becoming a mentor, so Is it something that comes easy to you, to teaching other people?
Lio Rush (Impact): I think as of late, yes. I feel like I’ve never felt confident enough to teach other people, and I feel like I probably felt like that because I was thinking more of teaching on a physical level. I know what works best for me, but I can’t teach people. I try to be as unique as possible. I try to do things that only I can do because I know my body is capable of. So, I feel like I can’t teach that to somebody else because other people react to things differently, but different limitations and things of that nature. But as of late, I feel like I’m teaching people in a new way that I couldn’t before. Before there was the lack of an experience, I feel like now I have the experience, I have the knowledge, I’ve been everywhere, and I’ve wrestled everywhere. I’ve, you know, seen the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in this business. So now I feel like I have that ability to teach, and I love it. I love, you know, giving younger guys and girls the, the knowledge that I wish that I had when I was younger, you know, and that’s just being as real as possible with them, teaching them things about the business, the actual business. Learning how to conduct yourself, things of that nature. So, it’s pretty exciting and I like it.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Which people were like a mentor for you, or who left the most impact, I guess, on your career?
Lio Rush (Impact): Believe it or not, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): There comes the full circle, right?
Lio Rush (Impact): Full circle. Full circle, search and destroy. I remember those days. I also remember the day Alex Shelley bought me my very first pair of wrestling trunks. And now it’s full cycle.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): When was that? When did he buy your first trunks?
Lio Rush (Impact): Yeah, 2016, when I won the top prospect tournament, those trunks that I was wearing were bought by Alex Shelley.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): So coming to Impact it’s like you’ve completed the company Grand Slam, what I like to call it, was it something special for you to finally appear in impact and to wrestle there?
Lio Rush (Impact): It was extremely special, extremely, extremely, extremely special. Impact was the one place that I haven’t gone, and to be able to do that at the age of 28. I feel like it’s really cool. It’s really special. It’s a different feeling, you know, knowing that you’ve been everywhere because then you start to ask questions like OK, you know. Where do I go? Where do I go after this? You know what other desires in the world of professional wrestling do I have? You know, so I start to think about two to five to eight years. What do those look like? Because I’ve done everything wrestling. It was special, It was a professional milestone, and it was a personal milestone for sure. So, super excited to be at impact now, though really excited. There are a lot of things that I got to do there.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): I mean, there is obviously the possibility of so many dream matches. Just like you’ve mentioned, Chris Sabin for example, who you’re going to face on Saturday. What are you expecting from the match, or what can we fans expect from you at Slammiversary?
Lio Rush (Impact): I’m expecting a 1, 2, 3 for the night. I’ll be me. Go tell the world what you’re about to see. The New X division champion, the Bad Child Lio Rush. That is what the fans can expect.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): I mean, your style is predestined for the x-division. Like looking back on the TNA days? Leading this division could be a very, very interesting aspect, but right now, in impact after that: Do you think it’s finally time for the big one for Lio Rush?
Lio Rush (Impact): Yes, This is why I’m here. I don’t do anything For no reason. This is for a reason, I don’t believe in coincidences. This is happening for a reason. It’s happening at the time that it’s happening for a reason. The times are changing, and I’m the one who’s going to lead that change.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Just before you said, you thought about how would your life or your career look like in eight or maybe 10 years. What were the questions or the come outs you’ve had?
Lio Rush (Impact): Yeah, that is a journey that I’m going to have to wait and find out to see for myself. Yeah, I try not to plan things too far down the line because you never know what’s gonna happen. I’ve learned that with multiple injuries that I’ve had that have completely derailed and stopped everything that I had going on, and it changed in an instant. And it changes for a very long time until you can rebuild and either get back to where you want to be, or go back to how it was, but I don’t think anybody wants to go back to how it was because everybody aims to progress. Yeah, you never know. So, we’ll see. 10 years? Let´s pushing it, pushing it. You’ll see. I want to focus on this year. That´s what I want to focus on.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de):Alright, let’s stay in the present, I guess. I mean, you don’t have to go back, but are you a person to reflect yourself, like going back to matches, watching them back?
Lio Rush (Impact): Not really. You gotta keep it fresh. You gotta keep it authentic. You gotta keep it original. You gotta live in the moment. I feel like that’s what makes the best artist.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): I mean this is like one of your qualities, wherever you went you stood up for yourself and you haven’t been ashamed to talk what you think. But with that, I guess, comes also trouble. Is there something that you think is in people’s perception like crazy twisted up?
Lio Rush (Impact): Man, I wish I could. I wish I cared. I wish I cared, but I don’t. Why should I? Why should you? Why should anybody care what anybody thinks of them? You just gotta be yourself. You gotta be a good person first and foremost, but be yourself who gives a fuck what anybody thinks about you? Is that going to stop me from doing what I was born to do? I don’t know. No, it never will. I’m sure you can tell by now. I’m not about to just keep it moving. You gotta be yourself. You gotta be happy with what you are doing. You have to do it for you and do it for the people that you love. Who cares what anybody else thinks? So, that’s what I have to say about that.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): Like seeing for us German fans, it has gotten a lot easier to follow the things on Impact Wrestling through the deal with the DAZN. How excited are you about that in Central Europe, you’re getting more attention through this partnership?
Lio Rush (Impact): I absolutely love it. I love, love, love, love Europe. So for me to be able to do something in Europe with impact with this company that I want to be a part of. It’s an exciting time. So, I’m looking forward to them parring up then. We can all just have one big party, so yeah, I’m excited.
Marko (Wrestling-Infos.de): So, I really appreciated your time, Lio and as our guest, I would like to give the last words to you. Is there something you have in mind, to pop out to the German fans, or do you want to get something off your chest?
Lio Rush (Impact): To all of the German fans out there, to all my German fans out there. First off, thank you so much for supporting me, especially in my younger days of wrestling and in WXW. And, you know, touring in Germany, you guys are some of the best fans that I’ve wrestled in front of, and I wish that I wrestled more in front of you guys. So thank you for that, but continue to support me, continue to follow my journey. I hope to see you one day. Continue to follow the things that I do outside of wrestling as well, because it’s all the same, and I want you guys to enjoy whatever it is that I’m putting out for you.
