Iva Kolasky (wXw): Hey, mir geht es großartig und dir?
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Mir geht es auch blendend, danke! Wie ich dir bereits vorher gesagt habe, freut es mich sehr, dass du es einrichten konntest. Während meiner Recherche bin ich über diese liebreizende Cinderella-Geschichte über eine junge aufstrebende Frau aus Südost Ungarn, die im Jahr 2017 von einer Freundin zu einem Wrestling-Event mitgenommen wurde, gestoßen. Ich schätze seitdem ist eine Menge passiert, findest du nicht?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Ja, das ist komplett wahr! Denn während die Jahre ins Land ziehen, versuche ich mich stetig zu verbessern und von Jahr zu Jahr zu steigern.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Als ich Youtube und insbesondere den Youtubekanal von HCW nach Matches aus deiner Anfangszeit durchforstet habe, hatte ich nicht viel Glück. Jedes Mal, wenn ich ein Video gefunden hatte, das implizierte, du würdest in den Ring steigen, kamst du mit einer Trillerpfeife heraus, hast in diese hineingeblasen und diesen Frankenstein-Kerl die ganze Arbeit für dich machen lassen!
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Das liegt an einer Änderung an meinem Character. In Ungarn bin ich für gewöhnlich als Heel aufgetreten, aber als ich debütierte, habe ich als Face gearbeitet. HCW wollte mir einen Heel-Character geben, deshalb hatte ich die Trillerpfeife und den Frankenstein-Mann, den ich mit der Pfeife kontrolliere.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Da ich kein ungarisch spreche, habe ich zwar kein Wort verstanden, aber als ich eine deiner Promos gesehen habe, war für mich offensichtlich, dass du als Heel gearbeitet hast. Mir wurde auch bewusst, dass ich bei dir nicht in Ungnade fallen und sicher nicht dein Gegner sein möchte. Das scheinen ein paar harsche Worte an deine Gegnerin gewesen zu sein! In dem Artikel, den ich zu Beginn bereits angesprochen habe, stand, du wurdest von einer Freundin zu besagter Show geschleppt, ist das auch deine erste Erinnerung an das Wrestling, oder bist du bereits früher mit dem Geschäft in Kontakt gekommen?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Nein, das war mein erstes Mal! Um ehrlich zu sein, vor diesem HCW Event wusste ich nicht einmal, was Professional Wrestling überhaupt ist! Ich wurde nicht in der Hauptstadt, sondern auf dem Land in Békéscsaba geboren. Dort hast du einfach keine Möglichkeit, um zu wrestlen oder dergleichen. Wenn du das machen willst, musst du nach Budapest ziehen! Das Event, HCW: BreakTrough, war 2017 in Budapest und wie du bereits gesagt hast, hat mich eine Freundin dorthin eingeladen. Ich bin dorthin gegangen und dachte mir nur, ‚Okay, ich habe mich gerade selbst gefunden. Das ist, was ich für den Rest meines Lebens machen möchte!‘
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Es war also Liebe auf den ersten Blick?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Um es kurz zu halten, Ja, auf jeden Fall!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Es war also die gesamte Erfahrung an sich, die dich in ihren Bann gezogen hat, sodass du für dich entschieden hast, ‚Ich will das machen!‘?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Ja! Denn während meines Lebens auf dem Land habe ich zwar immer viel Sport getrieben, ich habe zum Beispiel Judo, Gymnastik und Ballsportarten praktiziert, aber mir hat immer irgendetwas gefehlt. Ich weiß nicht was es war, das mir gefehlt hat, aber als ich mein erstes Wrestlingtraining absolviert habe, wurde mir direkt klar, dass ich es gefunden habe! Und wenn ich das so sagen kann, ich habe mich selbst in diesem Geschäft, im Wrestling gefunden! Das ist eine der wichtigsten Dinge, sich selbst zu finden und wenn du dich selbst gefunden hast, kannst du mit voller Leidenschaft angreifen!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Du bist offensichtlich bereits dein ganzes Leben lang eine Athletin gewesen, aber glaubst du nicht, dass es dir damals gefehlt hat, aus dieser ‚Private-Zone‘ herauszukommen, zu Schauspielern und alles nicht ernst zu nehmen. Diesen dramatischen und theatralischen Aspekt, den eben das Wrestling mit sich bringt?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Das ist so wahr, aber ich denke, Wrestling kannst du mit nichts vergleichen, es ist so eine einzigartige Sache.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Vor ein paar Tagen hatte meine bezaubernde Kollegin Katha die Gelegenheit mit Dover und Icarus zu sprechen. Zwei gutaussehende Gentlemen, die wie ich denke, einen großen, wenn nicht sogar den meisten Einfluss auf deine Karriere hatten. Wie stellen sich aktuell amtierenden wXw World Tag Team Champions als Trainer an?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Die beiden sind einfach großartig! Sie sind die Haupttrainer in HCW und haben eine neue Promotion namens Passion Pro, ich bin sicher du hast davon gehört! Du hast keine Ahnung, wie dankbar ich ihnen gegenüber bin, weil sie mir in Allem geholfen haben, sie sind also nicht nur meine Trainer, sie sind vielmehr als das, ich könnte mir keine besseren Coaches vorstellen, denn sie stehen auch zu mir! Während den Shows nehmen wir die Matches immer auf, nur um sie nach der Show noch einmal anzusehen und die beiden haben immer Verbesserungsvorschläge wie, ‚Was soll ich machen? Was hätte ich tun sollen? Was könnte ich stattdessen anders machen?‘ Sie versuchen sowohl meine Moves, als auch meine Attitüde zu korrigieren.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Sie sind also die Pep Guardiolas des ungarischen Wrestlings?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Ja, definitiv!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Und wie ich gehört habe, sind sie auch abseits des Ringes wirklich herzliche Menschen. Katha hat mir erzählt, sie hatte einen großartigen Chat mit Icarus über seine Katzen!
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Oha ja! Er hat zwei Katzen, Vesta and Gaston, glaube ich. Sie sind Sphinx Katzen.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Das sind wirklich bezaubernde Kreaturen! Ich habe nur einen Hund der aussieht wie eine Katze, aber so ganz nebenbei, ich liebe es, wie du es „HC Dub“ nennst, denn angefangen von den Vibes bis hin zu der gesamten Produktion, gibt mir HCW Underground diese späten ECW Vibes, deshalb großartig, dass ihr es auch so nennt, „HC Dub“! Katha hat mir ebenfalls erzählt, dass es bei HCW nicht nur darum geht, aus euch Schülern gestandene Wrestler zu machen, sondern euch auch zu eigenständigen Erwachsenen zu machen. Könntest du mir vielleicht mehr darüber erzählen?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Selbstverständlich! Ich studiere Recht und wenn ich zum Beispiel Prüfungsphase habe, sind die beiden immer hinterher und fragen, wie die Prüfungen laufen. ‚Hast du dafür gelernt?’….Deshalb habe ich gesagt, sie sind vielmehr als nur Coaches, denn sie bereiten uns aufs wahre Leben vor, nicht nur auf das Wrestlinggeschäft.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Was eine wunderbare Sache ist, ich denke solch ein System sollte viel flächendeckender verfügbar sein!
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Auf alle Fälle, ja!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Abgesehen von Dover und Icarus, wer hat dich sonst entscheidend geprägt?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Da gibt es noch einen meiner Coaches namens Peter Tehanyi. Er arbeitet auch für wXw und als ich angefangen habe zu trainieren, war er mein erster Trainer und er hat mir ebenfalls sehr geholfen. Wir konnten so gesehen Nachhilfestunden nehmen und ich habe dieses Angebot sehr oft in Anspruch genommen. Peter war dort der Coach und er hatte es wirklich drauf. Das hat mir sehr geholfen, über die Moves, meine Ringkleidung, mein Auftreten, Alles!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Ja, ich habe auch ein Tag Team Match von euch beiden gesehen. Intergender Matches, ist das generell etwas, das dich reizt?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Nicht unbedingt. Normalerweise arbeite ich als Singles Wrestlerin, aber wenn ich ein Tag oder Three Way oder so machen soll, mache ich das gerne, denn ich liebe es zu wrestlen! Es ist mir also eigentlich egal.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Es geht dir also um die Kunst und das zu tun, was du liebst?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Ja!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Zu Beginn deiner Karriere bist du unter, ich schätze deinem Geburtsnamen, aufgetreten. Hoffentlich spreche ich das richtig aus: „Emese“.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Das war großartig!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Danke! übersetzt bedeutet das ja „Amme“, was könnte passender sein für eine Frau, die ihr goldenes Baby stets eng um ihre Hüften geschnürt hat, denkst du nicht?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Klar, aber um ehrlich zu sein, Emese ist für Leute aus anderen Ländern schwer auszusprechen. Als ich mein Debüt gab, war mein Name Emese Kolarovszki, denn so wurde ich geboren. Mein Zweitname ist Eva, Iva! Deshalb habe ich das gewählt. Aus meinem Nachnamen haben wir einige Buchstaben gestrichen und so habe ich meinen Namen erhalten: Iva Kolasky! Vielleicht geht es leichter von der Zunge?
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Ich finde, es hört sich ein wenig russisch an für deutsche Ohren, also dieses Kolasky, wobei man bei Kolarov oder Kolarovszki eher denken würde, dass es sich um jemanden aus Ungarn handelt. Das beantwortet übrigens auch meine eigentlich nächste Frage, wie du dazu kamst, deinen Namen zu ändern. Es war aber nur, um ihn flüssiger klingen zu lassen?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Genau, hauptsächlich ging es um die Schreibweise.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Abgesehen davon, war es schwierig für dich, dich an die deutsche Kultur oder den deutschen Wrestlingstil anzupassen?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Ich versuche überall hineinzupassen, wenn ich also die Gelegenheit habe, ein Teil der Tapings zu sein werde ich da sein. Ich habe angefangen mir alle wXw Matches anzuschauen, um deren Style mehr denn je zu verinnerlichen. Also ja, ich versuche es.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Es gab leider nicht allzu viele Matches von dir bei wXw, die ich anschauen konnte, ich schätze das waren auch schon alle bisher, aber ich freue mich darauf, was wir in Zukunft von dir sehen werden. Eine Gemeinsamkeit, die du und dein Titel euch teilt, ist, dass ihr beide im Jahr 2017 in der Wrestlingszene aufgetaucht seid. Während die Championship jedoch eine wahre Achterbahnfahrt hinter sich hat und zwischenzeitlich ganze zwei Jahre nicht verteidigt wurde, ist dein Stern zu ziemlich beeindruckenden Höhen aufgestiegen. Können wir von dir also erwarten, dass du den Titel in nie dagewesene Sphären hievst und in zurück in die Spur bringst?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Das steht auf jeden Fall auf meiner To-Do-Liste! Ich möchte den Zuschauern und den Wrestlern von Show zu Show etwas Besonderes bieten und einen anderen Aspekt von mir zeigen. Ich versuche mich ständig weiterzuentwickeln.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Du möchtest also so viele Facetten von dir zeigen, wie möglich?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Genau, ich bin immer bedacht, etwas Neues zu kreieren!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Wie fühlt es sich an, diesen Titel, den Titel der Women’s Division in so jungem Alter zu gewinnen und diese anzuführen?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Für mich ist es einfach surreal! Wenn ich nur daran denke, fange ich an zu Schwitzen! Wie du bereits gesagt hast, ich komme aus Ungarn. Ich bin lediglich ein Osteuropäisches Mädchen. 2018 habe ich mit dem Wrestling angefangen, es kam sehr plötzlich, aber ich bin wirklich sehr stolz, dass ich diesen Titel gewinnen durfte. Ich liebe Killer Kelly und Toni Storm. Ich habe sie etliche Male den Titel in die Höhe halten sehen und habe mir vorgestellt wie es wäre, an deren Stelle zu stehen. ‚Wie könnte ich den Titelgürtel halten, wenn ich einmal die Chance habe ihn zu gewinnen?‘ Und nun sind wir dort angekommen, weil ich es immer gewollt habe! Jetzt trage ich den Titel und es ist verrückt, ja surreal! Ich hoffe einfach, dass dieser Moment nie zu Ende geht.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Hoffentlich hält deine Regentschaft für die nächsten zwei Jahre an und nicht, dass der Titel für weitere zwei Jahre nicht verteidigt wird.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Das hoffe ich auch!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Du hast uns bereist erzählt, wo du mit dem Titel hinmöchtest und ich denke, irgendwas musst du ja richtig machen. Du bist erst drei Jahre im Geschäft, dann diesen Titel zu gewinnen ist erstaunlich. Da nun LuFisto die Tür für die Damen eintritt, um selbst am 16 Carat Gold Tournament teilnehmen, wäre das etwas, was du für dich selbst in den nächsten Jahren sehen könntest?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Sag niemals nie, aber meine Antwort ist ein kurzes, hoffnungsvolles Ja!

Iva Kolasky (wXw): Das ist eine schwere Frage. Ich würde sagen, auf meine Trainer. Ich bleibe ihnen loyal und fiebere mit ihnen mit!

Iva Kolasky (wXw): Ich würde sagen England und mir wäre egal welche Promotion. Ich möchte einfach einmal sehen, wie es ist in England zu wrestlen. Irgendwann möchte ich natürlich auch mal den Sprung nach Amerika schaffen, aber alles Schritt für Schritt. Wenn ich dann noch die Möglichkeit bekomme nach Japan zu reisen und insbesondere für Stardom zu arbeiten? Ich drücke einfach die Daumen und hoffe, dass es eines Tages passiert!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Ich möchte natürlich auch die Person abseits des Wrestlingcharacters kennenlernen, hast du besondere Hobbies oder eine Leidenschaft, der du abseits des Rings nachgehst?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Ja, das Powerlifting! Circa 20 Meter von unserem Dojo ist Dovers eigenes Fitnessstudio und alle Wrestler gehen dorthin, um ihr Powerlifting Programm zu machen. Das ist mein Hobby neben dem Wrestling, das Powerlifting.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Ich bin auch über einen Youtube-Kanal von dir gestoßen und dort zählst du unter anderem Playstation zu deinen Interessen. Würdest du dich als Gamerin bezeichnen?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Klar, denn damals habe ich viel mit meinem Bruder auf der PS4 und der XBOX gespielt. Natürlich liebe ich die Witcher Spiele, die Spiele der Batman Reihe, Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassins Creed. Die guten alten Zeiten eben!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Definitiv! Assassins Creed ist jedoch eine Reihe, die ihren Reiz verloren hat, die besten Teile waren die der Ezio Saga.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Da wäre ich mir nicht so sicher, denn ich denke, einer der besten Teile war Black Flag mit dem Piraten Edward Kenway!

Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Dieses Spiel hat mich in den Wahnsinn getrieben! Ich bin zu weit in die See hinausgesegelt und das Spiel hat einen Autospeicherpunkt inmitten, oder direkt vor einem Sturm angelegt, mit drei Kriegsschiffen, die auf mich gezielt haben. Ich habe 20 Mal versucht daraus zu kommen, bis ich mir dachte, ‚Nope, das Spiel werde ich nie wieder anfassen!‘
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Ich fühle deinen Schmerz! Das tut mir so leid, das ist traurig!

Iva Kolasky (wXw): Wie meinst du das genau?
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Es könnte alles Mögliche sein, beispielsweise eine Katze, eine Zutat, ein Lieblingsgericht….
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Ich verstehe! So etwas hab ich nicht, denn ich lebe für Wrestling und wenn ich aufgrund der Prüfungsphase lernen muss, dann bringe ich das Buh eben mit auf den Trip! Wenn du es wirklich willst, kannst du es auch schaffen, das ist mein Motto!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Genau! Wie ich so herausgehört habe, hattest du keine großen Schwierigkeiten, diese beiden Welten unter einen Hut zu bekommen, oder gab es auch schwierige Zeiten?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Es ist oft wirklich hart, denn ich muss neben dem Wrestling und der Universität auch noch arbeiten gehen, um das theoretisch gelernte in die Praxis umzusetzen, das ist schwer. Wenn ich mich also zwischen zum Beispiel einem Kinoabend oder Studieren und Wrestling entscheiden müsste, würde ich immer letzteres wählen, da alles andere meine Zeit frisst. Ich fokussiere mich voll und ganz auf das Lernen und Wrestling!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Ich kann mir vorstellen, dass das Privatleben dabei auf der Strecke bleibt.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Ja, aber ich mag es auch. Für mich ist das kein Problem
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Mir gefällt der Kontrast zwischen dem Recht und dem Wrestling. Ich kann so gut nachvollziehen, weshalb dir diese andere Seite gefehlt hat. Ich komme aus derselben Branche und habe auf dem Landratsamt gearbeitet. Um diesen Ausgleich zu haben, habe ich Musik zur kreativen Betätigung ausgeübt. Ich denke, das ist essenziell, sich selbst zu finden.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Aber auch du hattest harte Zeiten und kannst nachvollziehen, wie erfüllend das sein kann!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Definitiv. Wie du gesagt hast, die Theorie und die Praxis liegen oft meilenweit auseinander. Nüchtern betrachtet macht vieles keinen Sinn, insbesondere in Deutschland.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Da sagst du etwas Wahres!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Hast du hier in Deutschland so etwas erlebt, wo du sagst, ‚warum machen die das so? Das macht überhaupt keinen Sinn?‘
So have you experienced something here in Germany where you say, ‚why do they do that or why is this so? This makes absolutely no sense to me!‘?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Die Deutschen befolgen sehr gerne Regeln, in Ungarn sind die Leute anders drauf. Viele brechen die Regeln einfach. Kurz gesagt, wir haben auf die Regelungen während der Pandemie geschissen. Alles war geöffnet, während es in Deutschland viele Limitierungen gab. Das ist also ein wenig anders, aber mir hat es gefallen, dass es in Deutschland ernst genommen wurde.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Unsere Politiker haben aber bereits oft ihre Meinung über den Haufen geworfen und ich weiß nicht, ob du es wusstest, aber jedes Bundesland in Deutschland kocht dabei sein eigenes Süppchen und macht seine eigenen Regeln. Das ist so verrückt! Haben dich die Corona-Beschränkungen also überhaupt nicht in deinem Leben und deiner Arbeit beeinflusst?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Nein, denn während der Pandemie war ich immer glücklich, denn ich versuche aus jeder Situation das Beste zu machen. Ich konnte stets trainieren gehen, also gab es für mich keinen Grund, um traurig zu sein.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Immer glücklich sein, das ist gut! Da das 16 Carat Gold Tournament ja kurz bevor steht, auf was freust du dich am meisten an diesem Wochenende?

Iva Kolasky (wXw): Hey, I’m doing great and you?
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): I’m too, thank you! So as I told you before, I’m glad that you made it Throughout my research I stumbled upon this lovely Cinderella story about a young upcoming woman from Southeast Hungary who was brought to an wrestling event by a friend of hers in 2017. I guess since then a lot has changed, don’t you think?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, that’s totally true! Because as the years passed by, I was trying to get better and better by the years.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): When I was looking through YouTube and the the HCW YouTube channel, trying to find matches from your earlier days, I wasn’t that lucky. Every time I’ve found a video that suggested you were competing, you came out with a whistle, blew it and had this Frankenstein guy do all the work for you!
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, because there was a chang in my character. In Hungary, I usually worked as a heel, but when I`ve debuted, I worked as a face. HCW was trying to give me a heel character, that’s why I`ve got a whistle and the Frankenstein man and I can control him with the whistle.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Nice, so I didn’t understand anything as I don’t speak Hungarian, but during watching your promos there I obviously recognized, that you worked as a heel, and I’ve also recognized for myself that I don’t want to be on the bad end of your favors, so I don’t want to be your enemy. Seemed like pretty harsh words! As I said before, this newspaper I found which said, you were brought to this wrestling event by a friend. Is this your first memory of wrestling, orr is there any earlier contact with the business you´ve made?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): No, that was the first time! Because to be honest, before this HCW event, I didn’t even know what pro wrestling is! I wasn’t born in the capital city, but in the countryside named Békéscsaba and in the countryside you don’t have any chance to wrestle or something like that and if you want to do this, you have to move to Budapest! The event, the HCW breakthrough, was in Budapest in 2017 and as you`ve mentioned, one of my friends just invited me and I went there and I was just like, ‚OK. I just found myself. This is the thing I wanna do for the rest of my life!‘
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): So it was love at first sight, right?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, definitely in a nutshell!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Nice! So it was like all of the experience in a whole that drew your attention to say, ‚I wanna do this!‘?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, because during my life in the countryside I did many sports. I did Judo, I did gymnastics, I did ball sport, but I was always missing something. I don’t know what it was that I’ve missed, but when I when I did my first training, I just found the thing I’ve missed and maybe, If I can say that, I found myself in this business, in wrestling! This is one of the most important things, to find yourself, and if you’ve found it, you can do it with full passion!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): So obviously you’ve been athlete your whole life, but don’t you think that the aspect that was missing was, to getting out of this private zone and to act and don’t take things to seriously, like what wrestling has. Its dramatic and theatrical aspect?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, but as you’ve mentioned, these things are so true, but I think you can’t compare anything to wrestling, it’s such a unique thing.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Yeah, of of course, obviously! A few days ago my lovely colleague Katha had the chance to talk to Dover and Icarus. Two handsome gentlemen who I guess had a lot, if not the most, influence in your career. So how are the currently reigning WXW World Tag Team champions doing as coaches?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): They are just great! They are the main trainers in HCW and they have the new promotion called Passion Pro,
I’m sure you’ve heard about it. And you have no idea how grateful I am to them, because they helped me in everything, so they are not just my coaches, they are more than that, so I can’t wish better coaches. They stand by my side! During the shows, we always record the matches and after this we just rewatch it and they are always telling me something. ‚What should I have done? What should I do? What should I do instead?‘ So they´re trying to correct my moves, my attitude.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): So they are the Pep Guardiolas of Hungarian wrestling?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah yeah, yeah, definitely yeah yeah!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): And from what I’ve heard ,they are also lovely persons in their on rights. Katha told me she had an awesome, awesome chat with Icarus about his cats!
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, he has two Cats, Vesta and Gaston,I guess. They´re Sphinx Cats.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Oh nice. Those are Beautiful Creatures! I just have a little dog that looks like a cat, but what they’ve also told Kata is, by the way, I love how you called it HC Dub, because the vibes and the whole production and everything on YouTube just gives me those late EC Dub/ECW vibes so it’s nice that you also call it like that, HC Dub. So those two told Katha, that HCW isn’t just about training the students to be a pro wrestler, but rather making them able to be an independent adult, so could you give me more details on that?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, for sure. For example, I’m studying law and when I have exam season, both of them are always asking, how the exams are going. ‚Did you learn this ?’….So yeah, that’s why I said they are more than coaches. Because they’re trying to teach us for the life, not just the wrestling.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Which is by the way, I think, a great thing to do, and I think this system should be more widely available.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, yeah. For sure, yeah.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Besides of Dover and Icarus, who influenced you the most in your career by now?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, there is one more of my coaches called Peter Tehanyi. He works in WXW as well, and when I started the training, he was my first coach or trainer and he helped me a lot as well. We would have private lessons and I attended a lot in this session and he was the coach who had it and it it really helped me a lot, about the moves, about my gear, about my attitude, all of them!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): I’ve also seen you team up with him in a tag team match, so intergender matches is is this your thing or is this something you’re intrigued about?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): No, usually I work as a singles wrestler, but if if I have to work in a tag or a three way or things like this, I’m happy to do this because I love to wrestle! So it doesn’t matter to me.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): So it’s just about the craft and doing what you love!
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, yeah.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): In the beginning of your career you competed under, I guess, your birth name. I hope I pronounce this correctly: “Emese”
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, that was great, yeah.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Thank you! That literally translates to ababynurse or midwife,I guess, how it is called in English what’s more fitting to a woman who carries her golden baby tight around her waist, don’t you think?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, but to be honest, Emese is a little bit hard to pronounce for the foreign people. And when I made my debut, my name was Emese Kolarovszki, because that’s my full name. And my third name is Eva, Iva. And that’s why I chose that! We took my surname and we just cut out a few letters from my surname and that’s how I got my name. Iva Kolasky! Maybe it’s easier to pronounce?
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Yeah, maybe It sounds a bit more Russian for German ears, so it’s like this Kolasky, whereas if you have, like a Kolarov or Kolarovszki, you would already think It’s someone from Hungary. This also answers what would have been my next question about how you ended up changing your name but, it was just to make it sound smoother?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Just a spelling thing, yeah.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Rather than that, was it difficult for you to adjust to German culture or the German wrestling style?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): I’m trying to fit everywhere, so when I get to know that I will have a chance to be part of the tapings I’m there. I’ve started to watch all the WXW matches, I just try to catch their style even more than before. So yeah, I’m trying.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): So there haven’t been many matches, I could watch from WXW, so I guess those were all of yours, but I’m pretty excited how it is going in the future and coming to that, in another coincidence, both you and your title popped up in the wrestling scene in 2017. Whilst the had quite a bit of a roller coaster ride, including not being defended for 2 years, your star has risen to pretty impressive heights, so can we expect from you to elevate the title to never seen before heights and lead it back on the right path?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, sure! That’s on my bucket list, to show something special and from show to show, I would like to give the audience and the wrestlers something different of me. So I’m trying to develop myself.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Yeah, so to change or to display many assets and facets of your character?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, trying to create something new.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): How does it feel to win this title, this Woman’s title, the main title of the division and to lead this division at such a young age?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): I think it’s just surreal. I mean, if I just think about it, I’m sweating because as you mentioned, I’m coming from Hungary. I’m just an East-European girl. I started wrestling in 2018 and it came very suddenly, but I’m really, really happy and it is a real honor to win this title. I really love Killer Kelly, Toni Storm and I watched them holding the title many times and I‘ was just imagining myself in their position. How can I hold the title when one day I have a chance to win it and here we are! Because I wanted it and now I am the one who holds this title and it’s crazy, surreal! And I’m just hoping that this moment is never gonna end.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Hopefully your reign will last two years and not end up for the title to being not defended two years again.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): I hope so too!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): So you you’ve also mentioned. what your goal is with the title and I think you must have been doing something right! I mean your three years in with experience. Winning this title? It’s amazing, but now, especially with Lufisto kicking in the door for the womans athletes to participate in the 16 Carat Gold tournament. Would you consider this a thing for yourself in the next few years?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): I wouldn’t say no, a short yes, but a hopefully yes answer.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): I think this would be a great addition to the tournament and to the variety. Many many dream matches. But sticking to the present. Who is your pick for this year’s tournament to win it?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): That’s a hard question. I would say my trainers. I will be loyal to them And I’m rooting for them.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Nice and then maybe, maybe they will win both and one goes for the shotgun title and then the other one goes for the world title and then the whole WXW is in Hungarian hands!
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, let’s do this, yeah?
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): That’s the master plan! Besides WXW, which promotions or countries are you most intrigued about to wrestle in?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): I would say England and I don’t care about which promotion, but for sure I want to see ‚how is it to wrestle in England?‘ and later of course I would like to be in America, but I would like to make it step by step and maybe if I have a chance I would love to visit Japan. Stardom, especially so I’m just crossing my fingers and hope it’s gonna happen one day.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Besides your wrestling character, I’m also intrigued about to get to know you as a private person, so Do you have any hobbies or A passion besides wrestling?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, it’s powerlifting, because next to our Dojo, like 20 meters away, there is Dover’s own gym and all the wrestlers are going there, doing the powerlifting program. That’s my second hobby besides wrestling. Yeah, the powerlifting thing.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): I stumbled upon an YouTube channel of yours and in your subscriptions you also have PlayStation in there, so would you consider yourself a gamer?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, because back in the years, I always played with my brother and we played a lot on the PS4, on the Xbox. And of course I love the Witcher games, the Batman series games, Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassin Creed. So yeah, the old good times!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Yeah, right. But especially Assassin’s Creed is a series which has dropped in appeal, I guess. The best times were with the Ezio Saga..
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, but. I’m not sure about that. Because I think one of the best parts of this was the Black Flag with the pirate Edward Kenway.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Yeah, the Black Flag.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): The pirates yeah yeah.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): This this was one, which was driving me nuts because I was driving too far away in the sea and then the game set on an auto safe point right in front of, or right in the middle of a storm with three battleships aiming at me. So I was trying to get out of there 20 times and then I was just like ’nope, I’m not gonna play this game again‘!
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, I feel your pain, yeah. I’m sorry about that! That’s sad!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Thank you for sharing my pain.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): You have to give it a second chance!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): So maybe there is already a remake or something in the works. If that´s coming, I will definitely give it a try!
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, OK!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): When you’re on the road is there something you miss or you can’t get ‚cause it’s not available in the foreign country?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): What do you mean by this?
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): It could be anything maybe you have cats or an ingredient you´re obsessed with, a special dish.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, I see your point. But no, I don’t have things like this because I live for wrestling and if I have to study because it’s exam season, I will bring the book during the trip and I can learn. So if you really wanna do this, you can do it. That’s my motto. If you want you wanna do this, you can make it!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Yeah, right, that’s a good way to see it and as as you already said then you have no problems to make those two worlds link. Studying law and doing the wrestling shows and wrestling training, or are there also troublous times?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Ah, it’s hard a lot of times, because I have to work besides wrestling and go to the university, because I have to practice the knowledge I’ve got from the university, so it’s really difficult. But if I have to choose between going to the cinema or between the studying or wrestling. I would choose this wrestling/study-thing because if I chose the cinema stuff that would consume my time and that’s why I only choose these things. I don’t do parties or private life if I can say that, so I’m trying to focus on studying and wrestling.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Yeah, I can imagine that there’s pretty much no time left to have a private life.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Yeah, but I like it. So it’s not a problem for me.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Nice and I also like the contrast between law and wrestling. I can really imagine why you need this other side. I come from the same background, so I was working at a regional government, but to have this, like a compensation and balance, I also did music as something creative, so I think that’s a very, very big aspect to be happy. To find yourself in something.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): But you had hard times as well, so you know how filling this is!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Yeah, especially as you said , this In the books and the practical aspect, it’s like miles away sometimes and from a sober perspective some things just don’t make sense, especially here in Germany.
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Definetly true!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): So have you experienced something here in Germany where you say, ‚why do they do that or why is this so? This makes absolutely no sense to me!‘?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): I think the German people always try to follow the rules. In Hungary, a lot of people just break the rules. Basically we gave 0 fucks about the rules during the corona situation. Everything was open, but in Germany there were a lot of restrictions. So that is a little bit different. But I was like, ‚yeah, OK, I like it, they take it seriously‘.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Yeah, right? But they changed their minds many times, and I don’t know if you knew this, but there are also differences from region to region in Germany. So so every Bundesland, every state is cooking their own soup and they’re doing their own things. It’s crazy, it’s crazy! Did the corona restrictions affect you much in in your daily life and in your work?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): Nope, because during the pandemic I was happy, because I always find happiness in every situation. I can do the work out stuff so there is no reason to being said.
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Always stay happy that’s good! With the 16 Carat Gold tournament right around the corner. What are you most intrigued about at the 16 Carat weekend?
Iva Kolasky (wXw): I’m excited about everything because, just by thinking of it, that I will be at the event as a wrestler. I can’t breathe, because it’s insane! The biggest event in Europe and I have a chance to be there, not just as a fan or a staff member, but as a wrestler. It’s just, one of my dreams came true. So I’m just excited. I can’t wait to being there and I’m really prepared for this!
Marko „Killcobain“ Welzenbach (Wrestling-Infos.de): Nice, so I guess the fans will also look forward to see you there and if they are interested in knowing more about you, where can they find you on social media? Where can they track your your career?
